Founders' Quote Daily

"The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."

Conservative Republicans: Fear Not

Okay, it is time for Conservative Republicans to rally  around Conervative Principles; this is no time to lie down and lose our voice.

The Patriot Post

Founders' Quote Daily

"Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. Do not be too severe upon their errors, but reclaim them by enlightening them. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress, and Assemblies, Judges, and Governors, shall all become wolves."

~ Thomas Jefferson (letter to Edward Carrington, 16 January 1787)

Super Duper Tuesday Feb. 5, 2008: My Vote Has Been Cast

Okay, here is the vote that I cast today:

Candidate for Presidential Nominee:
Mitt Romney- let's see if a ground swell of grass roots support turns out in favor of the anti-McCain
  1.

A vote for Romney is a vote for Conservative Principles:

~A strong economy, including tax cuts, and permanence of the Bush Tax Cuts
                   ~Strict Constructionist judges
                   ~Family Values
                   ~Pro-life
~Free market economy- no UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE
                   ~Secure the Border
~Strong National Defense- namely fighting the War against Islamo Fascism
                   ~Sound National Energy Independence-
open ANWAR and allowing exploration and drilling off our coasts
~Avoid Economic Disaster by opposing greenhouse emission caps (McCain-Lieberman)
~Sound policy on Guantanamo- keep terrorists off American Soil
                   ~Freedom of Speech- voiding McCain-Feingold
~Support for Strong interrogation methods, protecting those who voluntarily assist our investigatory
                                agencies from lawsuits
~Look at who is endorsing McCain, the New York Times= need I say more?

Remember when you pull that lever today (or fill in the bubble in California) that McCain does
not negotiate from a position of strength, like Reagan, he simply compromises Conservative Principles,
and that is precisely how he will govern from the White House.  He is not merely a true Conservative, he is
the liberal establishment of the Republican Party, he does not just reach across party lines, he gives in to
        liberal Dimocrats.

    Propositions:
        91- No
        92- No
        93- No
        94- Yes
        95- Yes
        96- Yes

        97- Yes

Agree with me or not, but make sure you VOTE!  Turnout in California is predicted to be huge: Record vote seen likely

8.9 million expected to turnout

That represents 56.6 percent of the state's registered voters and would reverse the steady decline in voter turnout in primary elections in California.

“That 8.9 million is almost what we had in the last general election,” Field Poll director Mark DiCamillo said. “This is a huge turnout for a primary – 1 million more than any previous primary.”

Thanks to all who took part in my poll, the final tally follows:

I Am Not the Only One with McCain Distaste

It seems that Dr. Dobson made the declaration that he'd never vote for McCain over a year ago...

"While John McCain has risen to the top of the heap among contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson remains adamant that he will not support McCain's bid for the White House.

Dobson, one of the nation's most influential evangelical Christians, declared more than a year ago that he wouldn't support McCain under any circumstances, saying McCain didn't support traditional marriage values.

A Dobson spokesman told the New York Times' David Kirkpatrick Wednesday that he stood by that position, and as a matter of conscience could never vote for the Arizona Senator. " Source: NewsMax

I knew I wasn't alone, but...

In good conscience, I will still have to support McCain in the general election.  He is far superior to, oh man don't make me say it: "Madame President Clinton...His honor the First Husband Billl CLinton..." gag, choke, cough...egads.  I don't have a problem saying President Obama, but he is a Progressive Liberal, as ranked by the National Journal:
============================================================================
Obama: Most Liberal Senator In 2007
By Brian Friel, Richard E. Cohen and Kirk Victor, National Journal
© National Journal Group Inc.
Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings. The insurgent presidential candidate shifted further to the left last year in the run-up to the primaries, after ranking as the 16th- and 10th-most-liberal during his first two years in the Senate.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., the other front-runner in the Democratic presidential race, also shifted to the left last year. She ranked as the 16th-most-liberal senator in the 2007 ratings, a computer-assisted analysis that used 99 key Senate votes, selected by NJ reporters and editors, to place every senator on a liberal-to-conservative scale in each of three issue categories. In 2006, Clinton was the 32nd-most-liberal senator.
===================================================================

If the American Electorate is so enamored with Barack Obama's "Change We Can Believe In..." slogan, then I shudder to thik what the next 4-8 years will be like...there is nothing behind the slogan.  What does change mean?  Nothing...

CA Primary: Vote For...Against

Here are my picks leading into the Super Tuesday vote here in CA:

For President: Mitt Romney, I would never vote for John McCain in the primary.  He has alienated the Conservative Base for years, and has only recently found his "conservatism" when it was obvious that he was losing to Romney in the Reagan Mantle race.  While there is never a perfect candidate, Mitt Romney's economic prowess and steady stance on the war against Islamo Fascists is aligned with mine.  McCain is no Reagan conservative, he has consistently negotiated away conservative principles; Gang of Fourteen, 2001 and 2003 Tax Cut Votes, Closing Guantanomo, Enhanced Interrogation Tactics, ANWAR- energy independence, McCain-Feingold (alone should disqualify him as the nominee), McCain-Kennedy (amnesty, it will be shoved down our throats when he becomes President), McCain-Lieberman (cabon caps- will kill the economy)...need I say more?

Proposition positions:

91, 92, and 93: undeniably against, vote NO
94,95,96,97:  I will hold my nose and vote for these, $Billions in revenues to the state, and a starting place for other Indian Gaming compacts which will pour more $$$ into the states' coffers.

Get out and vote, people...you can't stay home in the primary and we can't sit on our hands in the general; an Obama or Clinton presidency will be detrimental to the United States, and capitulation to the Islamo Fascists will be deadly.  America will be attacked under a weakened foreign policy.  And, if Obama wins watch out for a JOhn Edwards A.G.  Now that in and of itself should disqualify Obama for the presidency.  A return to the White House by co-president Slick Willie...well, that just about describes the fear...

What Say You?
