Miracle or Random Chance? Woman Gives Birth to Triplets

An amazing thing- nay, a miracle- occurred to a couple that suffered the tragic loss of their 3 children in a car accident
nearly a year ago

Lori and Chris Coble lost their 3 children in a crash on May 4, 2007.  On May 1, 2008 the couple welcomed triplets: Ashley, Ellie and Jake.  Lori, 30, and her mother Cynthia Maestri, 60, were injured and Lori's 3 children Kyle, Katie and Emma perished in a crash with a big-rig.

This is an incredible story.  The tragedy of losing one child must be overwhelming, I couldn't even begin to comprehend that sort of loss, three on the same day?  My father passed away just over a year ago, and that was difficult, but he lived a full life.  Children at the ages of 5, 4 and 2 (respectively) have barely begun their lives.

Nothing in the story gives any sort of clue as to the Coble's faith and/or their attempt to have more children.  Did they receive help in conceiving these children (invitro fertilization, for example)?  Was the conception and subsequent growth of triplets a miracle in and of it's own?  Could it have been random chance?

I posit the theory that there was Divine Inspiration (if not direct Interevention).  Absent man's assistance in fertilization of three ova, I am convinced that God's hand was clearly present.  The article left out the invitro part.  Were the triplets identical?  Were embryoes implanted?  The children are listed in good condition, good health, good sized at 4 pounds (my daughter was 3 pounds 10 ounces and premature).

I am guessing that the couple was overjoyed at the pregnancy in the first place.  To have conceived after the tragic loss was joyous in and of its own.  To have triplets is a miracle!  There is no way it can be explained any other way.

Congratulations to Lori and Chris, and Glory To God in the Highest!  We have something to cheer!  The Cobles give glory to God and say the triplets were gifts from their heavenly children (in the video accompanying the article).  having listened to the video there is no question that it was clearly God's work.

James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.

Do Nothing Dimocratic Congress: Energy Plan

Hmmm...the Do Nothing Democratic Congress is offering an Energy Plan...about time!  But wait what is the nuts and bolts of the plan?
  • Raise Taxes by instituting a "windfall profits tax" of 25%
  • Cease "big oil" subsidies
  • Increase renewable, alternative fuels (can you say ethanol?)
That's the plan?  What part of basic economics is so difficult to understand?  Basic Econ 101: higher demand and less supply creates rising prices.  Raising taxes is so foolhardy, as who pays the taxes?  When the windfall tax hits, ya think the oil companies won't merely raise the price to soften the blow?  Add a quarter to each gallon of gas?  Big Oil is already paying huge tax bills, Exxon Mobil paid over $30 Billion!  Ouch!  What other company kicks in that much in taxes?

Nothing in the Dimocratic Bill will affect oil supply and demand.  Unless, you are a farmer growing corn!  The price of foodstuffs comodities continue to rise as well.  Hmmm...farmers the world over have been increasing corn production, not to feed people, rather it is to put the corn into ethanol supplies.  Hmm...what happens to the price of corn?  The price of beef, less supply for feed?  You got it: higher prices...

So, corn goes up in price, gas goes up in price...that's sound economic policies...yep, I want Obama and Clinton in the White House, then I will feel better about myself...

Someone in Congress has got to reduce our reliance on foreign oil.  Someone has got to increase our supply of gasoline by building oil refineries!  We haven't built a refinery in 30 years!  We need Nuclear power, if France can power 80% of it's nation by Nuclear Power, we can...open drilling in ANWAR and offshore!  Don't touch anything that resembles a wind fall porfits tax.

Thank goodness Bush is in power for now...he can veto the nonsensical Dimocratic Energy Plan....

California Proposition Positions: 98 and 99

When I first saw these two propositions I was a little suspicious, especially of Prop 99.  With 98 I was leaning toward supporting.  So, this mornings San Diego Union Tribune made the following endorsement: No on 98, No on 99.  They claim 98 is too vague, that the language gives some fudge factors.  In addition it makes the claim that if 98 had been enforced we would not have Petco Park nor Horton Plaza.  I am so against takings for private purposes that I must support 98.  If a project is so worth doing then developers need to use negotiation and make a private purchase, and not rely upon the government to enforce eminent domain.

Proposition 99 is merely an attempt by developers to fool voters.  They are hoping for a no on 98 and yes on 99.  I cannot support a sham...therefore no on 99.

Proposition 98: YES
Proposition 99: NO
